How we choose
Every place in our lists has been checked against its own website or an official source such as the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (egymonuments.gov.eg), the Egyptian Tourism Authority, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, UNESCO, Cairo International Airport, Egyptian National Railways or the Egypt e-Visa portal. We use no ratings, and we leave out anything we can’t confirm.
Before you go
Opening hours, entry rules and timetables change often in Egypt, and differ during Ramadan. Please check directly with each place, and with official sources, before you travel. Prices are in Egyptian pounds (EGP).
For venues
Run a venue in Cairo and spotted something to update? We review our lists regularly and welcome corrections.
