About The Red Sea, from El Gouna to Ain Sokhna

The Red Sea is Egypt’s great escape from the city. Ain Sokhna, on the Gulf of Suez, is the nearest coast to Cairo by road; further south, El Gouna is a resort town of lagoons, marinas and hotels near Hurghada, with the reefs of the Red Sea offshore. Fly to Hurghada from Cairo, or drive.

Ain Sokhna

El Gouna

Lagoons, marinas and hotels near Hurghada.

Go between October and May, when the sea is warm and the air is not too hot.

The reefs

Snorkelling and diving from licensed boats.

Our advice: protect the reef: never stand on coral, and use reef-safe sun cream.
